Moabe Filho holds a degree in Radio, Television, and Internet from the Federal University of Pernambuco and a specialization in Sound for Film and Television from the International School of Film and Television (Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba (2007–2010, 19th class).

He began his career in the audiovisual field in 2004; between 2005 and 2007, he was part of the Cultura Digital team, a research and training initiative of the Ministry of Culture aimed at encouraging the use of free/open-source software in multimedia productions. Since 2010, he has devoted himself to studies and practices related to audiovisual sound and to sound recordings of popular culture.
