Macumba is an extensive beach with kiosks all along the shore and the bike path. The Pontal rock separates Macumba Beach from Recreio Beach. When the tide is low, a narrow sand path is formed from the beach to the rock, allowing you to reach it. The climb to the top takes about an hour, and has a beautiful view. It is possible to see, on the right side, the whole extension of sand from Recreio to Barra da Tijuca, and on the left side, Prainha.
