With its breathtaking scenery, Grumari Municipal Natural Park occupies 800 hectares and is home to several ecosystems: sandbanks in the lower regions, wetlands around Lagoa Feia, and Rio do Mundo. Ten-minute-long trails lead to the Meio and Perigoso beaches, both practically deserted.
Grumari Park is a sanctuary for one of the few areas of native vegetation in the city of Rio de Janeiro that resisted anthropogenic interference. It is also home to several species of endangered fauna and flora.In this area, remnants of mangrove can still be found.
