Copacabana Beach

Affectionately nicknamed Princesinha do Mar (Little Princess of the Sea) by the locals, a popular song by João de Barro (Braguinha) and Alberto Ribeiro, Copacabana beach is located in the neighborhood of the same name, in the southern part of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It has bike racks, bike lane, kiosks, hotels, bars and restaurants, frequented both during the day and at night. It also has two Military Forts, one at each end of the beach, with panoramic views, open to visitors.
Such a fascination is also due to the beautiful sidewalk of Avenida Atlântica in white and black portuguese stones, which form a beautiful mosaic in the shape of waves, inspired by the Lisbon sidewalk and used by Roberto Burle Marx on the beach. It has a great infrastructure of hotels and kiosks, which attract tourists from all over the world.Stage of the biggest New Year's Eve party on the planet, with its world famous fireworks, Copacabana gathers more than three million people every year at this date. Its sands also host grand events such as the Pan American Games in Rio 2007, world sand soccer championships and world volleyball championships.
