Praça XV (XV Square) is located in the historic center of Rio de Janeiro. Once called Praça Dom Pedro II, it received the current name with the Proclamation of the Republic. Until the first half of the twentieth century, Praça XV, which housed the old port of Rio, was the main gateway to the city. There you can find “Paço Imperial”, the “Chafariz do Mestre Valentim”, “Arco dos Teles”, the boat station, among other buildings and monuments.
