Vinicius de Moraes street is located in the Ipanema neighborhood, in the southside of Rio de Janeiro. The name is a tribute to the poet, diplomat and composer Vinícius de Moraes, who wrote along with Tom Jobim the song “Garota de Ipanema”. In the street you can find, besides bars and restaurants, the Toca do Vinícius store, a book and music store specialized in Bossa Nova.

More About
  • Until 1980, the street was called Montenegro Street. The name change was a way to honor Vinicius de Moraes, a constant client of Bar Veloso, from where he could gaze the "tall and tan and young and lovely girl from Ipanema".

Public location.
