Tanguá is a city located at the Região Metropolitana of Rio de Janeiro. Its history is attached to Itaboraí, a bigger town that is one of the Tanguá’s borders. Tanguá was emancipated from Itaboraí in 1995. The city’s area reaches 147km² and its population has 30 thousand inhabitants.
