RioFilme and Rio Film Commission attend 1st Brazil-Canada Audiovisual Seminar

September 12, 2016, Toronto and Rio de Janeiro. The Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce promoted its 1st Brazil-Canada Audiovisual Seminar, aimed at promoting opportunities for business partnerships between the thriving film and television industries of the two countries.
The seminar included panels on “The Brazilian Audiovisual Industry Regulatory Framework and Opportunities for Co-Production” and “Canada-Brazil Theatrical and Television Partnership Case Studies” with speakers from both countries.

During the event, RioFilme, the municipal audiovisual agency of Rio de Janeiro, presented 20 film projects in various stages of production that are available for International Partnerships.

In addition, the BCCC and REBRAFIC - The Brazilian Film Commission Network signed an MOU to foster bilateral relations in the Audiovisual sector by promoting partnerships and collaboration between Brazilian and Canadian producers and filmmakers and film commissions. The MOU was signed by Frederico Marques, Chairman, Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce and Steve Solot, Executive Director of REBRAFIC.

The seminar was held at offices of McCarthy Tetrault, TD, South Tower 66, suite 5300, Wellington Street West.

The seminar was made possible through the support of BCCC sponsors, as well as RioFilme, REBRAFIC, the Rio Film Commission and the Cesnik, Salinas & Quintino Law Firm, Ontario Media Development Corporation and The Consulate General of Brazil in Toronto.
